Gainesville, FL — Jasmine Bowers has lately made historical past because the first-ever African American scholar to obtain a doctorate diploma in Pc Science from the College of Florida.
Bowers double majored in Math and Pc Science at Fort Valley State College and earned her masters at North Carolina A&T earlier than receiving his doctorate. She now joined the ranks of different historic Black girls in STEM corresponding to Mary Jackson, NASA’s first Black feminine engineer, and Dr. Patrica Tub, the primary Black girl to obtain a medical patent.
